After all this time, (exactly a year, as of this writing) this remains one of my favorites. It
remained up for quite a long period of time - several months, I think.
This was my first attempt at a collage, and it came out wonderfully complex. A bit of luck in arranging the pictures helped. A big part of the work involved cutting, color editing, shadows, fading, and other somewhat advanced tricks and operations, all performed with the GIMP.
One of the things that made this layout so challenging was the profusion of color - if you look at the dotted line at farthest left, you'll see that it changes from black to light grey to black again for reason of visibility. Also, at the last minute when I was figuring out the placement of the various blog elements, I had to go back and add the pale box over Miyavi's lower half - otherwise, the beginning of the top entry would be impossible to read.
I was very pleased at the mesh between the Miyavi and clock themes. Worked very well, in my opinion.
