Generation 8 of erratic evolution features Kyouka, the incredible vocalist from the Japanese visual kei band, Aliéné Ma'riage. I put together the image above from two scans taken from the Les Soirée photobook. The trio plays a very heavy and dark kind of rock; Ray's heavy bassline complements Mast's excellent guitarwork, and Kyouka's versatile voice tops it all off. His vocals set him apart from all others - the sounds he can produce have to be heard to be believed. From singing to howling to screeching to indescribable noises that should only come from machinery, Kyouka does it all.
This was my second layout to go live that I made using the GIMP, and it shows. I wasn't entirely successful at editing out the line where the two pages met. You can still see it running vertically to the left side of Kyouka's head.
The design isn't particularly exciting, either. It's very simple - picture in the upper-right corner, left edge blurred towards the left. The link and scrollbar arrow colors were taken from Kyouka's hat and hair.
In spite of all this, I like 'a gothic fairytale'. Its simplicity appeals to me, and someday I may do a remake of it and put it back up.
