Site

kagami noir, my official art site. It showcases my art from March, 2003 onwards, as well as a few select pieces from years past. I intend for this to be basically my online portfolio. I've purposely kept this site simple mainly because I like fast-loading pages, even for people on a dial-up connection. Also, although I personally keep my monitor at a fairly high resolution, I've done my best to make the page friendly for any resolution.

So what does "kagami noir" mean? "kagami" is "mirror" in Japanese, and "noir" is "black" in French. Most adjectives in French come after the noun they describe, so that's the order I chose to use. Hence, it translates to "Black Mirror". I mostly came up with this title/combination of languages because it sounded cool. ^^ But you could also read a deeper meaning into it. As a site devoted to my art, this place offers a glance into the origin of my art, my inner soul. It's something that a normal mirror would not be able to reflect; instead, you need this black mirror to provide this black reflection. Not to say that my soul has been stained black, mind you! ^^ It's just a way of indicating a secret, hidden place.
