1. Toki wo Koeta Shoujo to Fuuinsareta Shounen
The Girl who Crossed Over Time and the Sealed Away Boy

550 years ago in ancient Japan (counting from Kagome's time), we see Inuyasha attacking a village and he steals the Shikon no Tama (Jewel of Four Souls) from a temple. But the village priestess, Kikyou, who is mortally wounded, seals Inuyasha up against Goshinboku (Holy God Tree). She takes the Shikon no Tama from him, but dies from her wound. Before she dies, she asks that the Shikon no Tama be burned with her.

Now, the story switches to the present time and we meet Kagome, an "ordinary" Japanese schoolgirl. She goes into the old well by her house and is pulled into it by a centipede demon. She makes the demon retreat and goes out of the well only to find herself in a totally different time period, that of the Sengoku Jidai (Era of Warring States). She goes into the forest and sees Inuyasha pinned up against the tree, but then villagers find her and bring her back to the village. She meets the little sister of Kikyou, Kaede who is now the priestess. Kaede remarks on how much Kagome looks like her dead sister, Kikyou.

But that night the centipede demon attacks the village. Kagome knows its after her so she runs toward the forest where she saw Inuyasha to draw it away from the village, and it chases after her. The centipede demon bites Kagome and the Shikon no Tama falls out of her body. Kagome frees Inuyasha, who rips apart the centipede demon and then tells Kagome he will do the same to her if she doesn't hand over the jewel.

The People After the Jewel of Four Souls

Kagome runs from Inuyasha, but then Kaede throws an enchanted rosary around Inuyasha's neck and tell Kagome to utter a subduing word. Kagome shouts "sit!" and Inuyasha slams down to the ground. They go back to the village, and Inuyasha follows so he can try to steal the jewel from Kagome.

Kagome is told that since the jewel came out of her body she ie a reincarnation of Kikyou who died earlier. She is told that she must protect the jewel from evil people who would use its power for evil ends. But, Kagome just wants to go home, so she goes into the forest towards the old well that she came out of. However, on the way, she is kidnapped by babdits who take her to their leader. The leader wants the Shikon no Tama so, he tries to kill Kagome, but acting very strangley he kills some of his own men as well. Just as he is about to kill Kagome, Inuyasha comes in and finds out that the leader is really dead, and his corpse is being animated by a three-eyed crow demon. The crow demon manages to snatch the Shikon no Tama from Kagome and fly away with it. Inuyasha and Kagome pursue it, and Kagome shoots an arrow at that not only destroys the crow demon, but shatters the Shikon no Tama into an unknown (large) number of pieces.

Since the Shikon no Tama is shatteres all over the country Inuyasha and Kagome must join their powers and cooporate to collect all the shards before any evil beings can get them. Meanwhile, back in the village, Kaede is attacked by unconsious village girls who are like puppets, with starnds of hair tied around them, controlling them. The one who is controlling the hair is Sakasagami no Yura, another demon after the Shikon no Tama. When kagome arrives at the well, Yura attacks her and steals the one shard Kagome that was still left in the crow demon. Kagome falls down the well and returns to her own time.

Inuyasha returns to the village to find Kaede injured. He is then attacked by the villagers who are being controlled by Yura. Inuyasha and Kaede escape and Kaede says that only she and Kagome are able to see Yura's hairs, but her eyes are old so they need Kagome to defeat Yura. 4. Sakasagami no Youma Yura
The Inverted Hair Ghost Yura

Kagome happily at home, makes a promise to forget about what happened in the Sengoku Jidai, but when Inuyasha comes to take her back, that promise is broken. The actual reason Kagome went back with Inuyasha was because Yura's hair followed him through the well and she didn't want her family to get hurt.

When Inuyasha and Kagome return they see Yura's hair everywhere and they follow it and reach her home. Inuyasha and Yura fight. Inuyasha gets stabbed many times, and even when he ripped a hole right through Yura, she wans't affected. Then Kagome discovers a red skull which was Yura's source of power. Kagome broke the skull with her arrow, and then Yura dissloved into dust. The reason why that happened was Yura had hid her soul in the comb that was in the skull. When that broke, she died.
