Cycle

Lately been listening to tons of Dir en grey... "Tsumi to batsu" catches my attention in particular. Very very very explicit lyrics... but I like the way Kyo uses his voice in it. This coming from Anime Night's resident homicidal freak... well, a quiz once told me that the song was my inner turmoil!

Erin IMed me a message... it's Thanksgiving. A certain individual should be very thankful I only act like I'm ready to kill the next human being who crosses my path. I have a one-track mind. This individual should be very thankful the one track is currently occupied with something else, because otherwise, I'd be ready to hunt [pronoun] down, flay [pronoun], and dismember [possessive] corpse.

In terms of one track... I had a weird dream last night. I don't know if it has anything to do with what happened before because I haven't been sleeping well lately, so it might just be the product of a "fevered imagination". I don't know what to think anymore. Hen datta, demo... natsukashikatta...

Continuing with our theme of navel-gazing... I figured out what was wrong with me. Why I was feeling so down and stuff. I just don't ever really see my friends anymore, with the exception of Kathryn, and that's only at school and stuff. I'm lonely, that's all.

Started work on a new layout. Aliene Ma'riage, this time with all three members - Kyouka, Mast, and Ray. According to jrocknyc, Ray's showed up in a new band, Vinett. Where did you guys go, Kyouka and Mast? T_T

Mindless self indulgence

^_______^ My Gauze and Macabre CDs came today! *___*

The jewel case for Gauze was a little battered, but the CD and booklet were practically new. The booklet is thick, with only five pictures of the band - one of Toshiya, Kyo, Kaoru, Die, and Shinya, respectively - and everything else is lyrics. Each track has a little poem-thingy and picture, even the prologue and epilogue. ^_^ I'm very happy to have it.

And then Macabre's jewel case is special. There's a pattern embossed into it - it matches the pattern on the CD booklet, which is even thicker than the one for Gauze. There are also five round beads in the spine of the case, so everytime I pick it up, it makes noise. It's kinda creepy. o-o;; I can't explain it. But it's a unique touch. The CD booklet has a group shot, and then each member has two pictures - a full-body and a close-up of the face. Everything else is lyrics. Like Gauze, each song has a poem and picture.

Macabre was still factory-sealed, so I plan to clip and save the tiny little obi strip-sticker - it's affixed to the plastic. No, I'm not being a freak about these CDs. >_>;; Well, maybe it's warranted. I paid $25 for each, which is less than what it would've cost to buy them brand-new in Japan (and Macabre is indeed brand-new), and with $6 for shipping, it comes to $56. It was well-spent.

I think the overall design of the CDs was good - case, booklet, CD itself. On Gauze, the tracklisting on the back of the case is given in German ("Schwein no isu") and on Macabre, it's given in Russian ("Deity"). Interesting little touch that shows Diru actually put thought into this. I really appreciate it - some bands just slap stuff together. And while I wish there were more pictures, I can understand the content of the booklets. The focus is always on the music, not the band members or how they look.

I've started thinking about the cons next year. I plan to go to a small one, and Erin hopes to go to Katsu. She asked me if there was stuff I was looking for, so... that's what sparked this train of stupid thought. But I'd like to get the three Klaha singles "Gardenia", "Beast of Blood", and "Garnet", and at least the Malice Mizer photobook Livre Rose Blanche. I might consider getting Dir en grey's "Child Prey" as well as the one that's coming out this January, "DRAIN AWAY". And maybe the [DRAGON FLY] and XX books. On the manga front... I'm looking into Alichino and Pet Shop of Horrors. But I definitely want Gravi vol. 12 and HanaKimi vol. 17. >_>;; Lots of money...

Brain stem

For the last two days I've felt like I was going to cough out my brain stem... but my cold and cough are getting better, so I may be able to keep all of my brain inside my cranium.

The obligatory section about the latest downloads... I'm listening to some Pride of Mind stuff... I can understand why Klaha joined MM. They're similar. Where MM was doing insane carnival music with Voyage ~sans retour~, Pride of Mind was doing quasi-operatic stuff... like very, very, very early Bara no seidou.

I also have Kaggra's "Kotodama" PV. I like it. Unique... I should get more stuff from them, because of the four MP3s I have of them, I only like "Kotodama", which is why I got the PV. The recording is a bit different - on the PV, Isshi doesn't quite hit that high note... but still. Not like I could, so... we'll stop talking. Izumi is really the understated one... he was dressed plainly compared to the others, but maybe the drum set was hiding him too much. Nao had some sort of fabric wrapped around his head, with hair hiding his left eye... I think it was Nao. Or maybe Shin... I need to learn to tell them apart; I can only recognize Isshi... there's the guitarists, Akiya and Shin. o_o; One of them had his guitar so far down, it was like hanging around his knees. Either that or he was hunched over a lot... maybe both. And Isshi is just Isshi... for some reason, I don't like him.

Perversions...

I feel obligated to write something. I've been neglectful of my bloggie.

Things are messy and complicated... there are too many morons on the world. Between plotting ways to kill some of them, angsting, thinking, and getting college apps done... whew. I'm busy.
