I downloaded 40-some MP3s today, mostly Dir en grey, though I got a smattering of Raphael, too. Raphael makes some nice music, though it's not exactly to my taste. Maybe Erin or Kathleen would like it.
partion magic donloadAs for video... I'm working on getting Malice Mizer's movie Bara no konrei, as well as a Diru fanclub VCD. I'm getting other stuff, too - namely Lareine vids. None of them are complete, but I've watched what I've downloaded. The first I saw was "Fuyu Tokyo", and my impression was "My God, Kamijo is such a fruit!" The whole spinning-around-woosh-woosh-look-at-me!! thing... such a fruitcake. And then I watched "Je t'aime (live)", and it was like, "Wow!" He really sings well. Really well. For all his flamboyancy... he's got the voice to back it up.
Out of all the Deg PVs I have, "Child Prey" is still the best. I got "Filth" today, and once again, I had that I-don't-get-it-am-I-missing-something? feeling. Maybe it's a cultural thing; you have to read between the lines or something.
Also, X/1999 ep. 1... I've only watched the first five out of twenty-three some minutes... gonna keep downloading, though.

Commentary: Buckle up... I could be rambling for a while.
First, the live clips. "Color Me Blood Red" was annoying... the live footage was processed and distorted and sort-of seizure inducing. Japanese videos seem to do that a lot. Maybe seizure inducing stuff is the norm. Oh well. "Beast of Blood"... everyone was decked out like... industrial-ish goth. Klaha had spikes and a bad-looking perm, Közi was wearing spandex and tights >_>;;;, Yu~ki was taller by at least six inches on account of his hair, and Mana was... mini-skirt, yeah, the whole Mana deal. "Shiroi Hada..." was just... wow. Klaha is singing in CD quality. But you know he's not lip-synching because it is different from the CD. But geez... CD quality.
Then, the two PVs... "Jessica" is, er... interesting in a I-don't-get-it-is-there-something-to-get? kind of way. Animated girl with pink hair and SHARP teeth driving down a road. Animated evil green guy. Missiles, a hand gun, explosions. Slightly seizure-inducing with the crazy... er... the part where the band's playing? Yeah, craziness. "Child Prey" is good. Heavy song with a sing-along chorus. Everyone looks "normal" except for Kyo, who looks like he had too much fun with charcoal. Either that or he beat himself up with a golf club. Sexy bastard nonetheless. Interesting in a cool way scene where the guys are in... like... fighter jets. Bah. I describe badly. But good fun. But I was slightly disturbed at the ending... Kyo's shirt is hanging open and his chest is scratched up.
Goofing off... Die's on the tour bus, and then he's like holding a cereal box? to his (fore)head. Everyone else is either asleep or doesn't care. >_>; Bizarre. And Kyo's sitting on a chair, which is at right angles to a sofa. Cat's on the sofa. Kyo's teasing the cat with Shinya's headphones (the bud kind). The cat's probably like, "Ooh! Mildly interesting... or not."
Extra... they burn Mana at the stake! XD! And Klaha's a vampire killer-person-thingy? And Yu~ki and Közi are vampires? I think Közi turns into one... regardless, it's good MM fun. :P
Yesterday I sent in my application for Harvard, and today I got notification that they received and printed it. So, now it's out of my hands. Hope hope hope. For what, I don't know. I know my chances are getting rejected are pretty good, but I still want to try, if only to see how I "measure up". I'd like to get in, and I'm sure my parents would love the "Nah nah nah, my kid got into Harvard!" bragging rights. :P
And today, after a serviceman came to our house, I got the cable modem set up. ^____________________^ It's so wonderful after years of 56k. I'm madly downloading (well, trying to, anyway *kicks queue*) videos and stuff. ^____^
More good news - in addition to the single, Lareine's putting out a new album this December. I'm not sure if this is a Kamijo solo or he's getting together a new band. But I'm looking forward to it. I really hope it's more Lareine-ish than New Sodmy-ish because I didn't like New Sodmy.
People seem to really like the Közi layout, and it makes me proud. ^.^
In stark contrast, a "Le ciel" layout I'm plugging away at isn't really going anywhere. T_T A) I picked a bad picture, B) I'm going about this all wrong, C) both A and B. I'm thinking about giving it up and looking through my precious Angel Sanctuary artbooks to find a nice picture of Michael. I like Michael. :D
