Frustrated

Working on the new look for Ekusu Dii. Right now, I'm fighting with cgiemail, trying to get two forms to work. I honestly have no idea why it's not working. I've been imitating the form I have set up for requesting web hosting, but it's not working... T_T Oh well. I'll get it eventually. ^_^

jedi outkast crack

I hope we get at least one more person for XD.

Utena

Erin was nice enough to invite me over to watch Utena, so... yeah, Utena! ^_^ All I can say is, "Nanami lays an egg." :D~

Actually, for me, Utena isn't really hard to understand... you just need to be able to compartamentalize and theorize well. As Erin said, you need to understand that it's all one huge metaphor, but you also need to realize that it is a story. Things are unrealistic, but they were never meant to seem possible; they are unrealistic and should be thought of as such. However, those anomalies usually have a meaning. For example, the cars are cars, but if you think of them as cars and nothing more, you'll always be confused.

I enjoy it. ^_^ It's fun. And frighteningly gorgeous... to think that human beings could create something that beautiful. But you have to be careful - one can't ever let one's self be hypnotized by one's own glory because that, inevitably, is the downfall of gods.

Adolescence Mokushiroku

I got the Utena movie from Erin... wow... it was really really good. I think I get it... at least the big picture. Some of the smaller things I don't understand, but I think I see the forest, even if I do lose trees here and there. Erin, I'd like some serious discussion time with you, just to make sure I'm not deluding myself.

It was absolutely gorgeous. I'd love to see this on DVD, simply because it was so very beautiful... Ohtori Academy was gorgeous. Impossible architecture, sure, but damn... absolutely gorgeous. If the manga is as beautiful (I'm sure there are artbooks) ... *_*

As far as I can tell, the movie is one GIGANTIC metaphor. One incredibly large and complex metaphor that covers more or less every aspect of the issue it's an analogy for. I am in awe. Wow...

I'm debating whether or not to go into my viewpoint of the story. And I've just decided not to because 1) I'm not sure if I'm just on crack or really onto something, and 2) it might spoil the movie for everyone else.

Ne... Kaoru Miki no seiyuu wa Souma Yuki no seiyuu desu ka?

Important stuff done!

^_______^ Got my learner's permit... you only need to get 15 out of 18 questions right, and I missed one, so they just stopped after question 16. I was shocked 'cause all of the sudden the computer didn't show a question, and I was like, "Oh, ----..." But it was aaaaaaaaaaaaall good. ^_^

We went down to the local community college to register for the second session of summer courses, which begins July 1. The fee for the class, Probability & Statistics 1, was $305 + textbook, but since I'm in the top 10% of my class with a GPA higher than 2.5, we got the class for free! ^_______^ Even if we did have to go through some slight beaurocratic hassling... it's all good. ^_^

Gotta remember to bring my Tarot cards to Anime Night tonight. ^_^

Gettin' work done

Studied for learner's permit test, which I'm taking tomorrow... >_< If I don't pass, mum will murder me.

But Ekusu Dii is back in operation!! ^o^ The cast has changed a bit. ^_^ But at least stuff will happen again.

Paint comic #7

Ending a long period of Paint-comic-block... Paint comic #7. Some slight stylistic changes. Very simple 3+4 gag; shounen-ai overtones if you're looking for them.

More Minority Report

Reading Newsweek magazine today, and the woman who plays Agatha is Samantha Morton, so kudos to that lady for her performance in Minority Report. ^_^

An idea occurred to me for a possible Weiß Kreuz fan fic, but I'm sitting on it. I rarely write because I want what I do write to turn out well, and usually it doesn't, so. Oh well. ^_^

I did do some thinking as I was reading a fic. The problem with Weiß is that all four of them are stuck in the past. Aya keeps re-living the day his sister was injured, Ken is haunted by what his soccer career could have been, Youji continues searching for Asuka, and Omi is frustrated by the blank in his memory. I think they won't get better until they each deal with their pasts.

If the people I liked best were "Gifted":

Dan: telepath-empath (he'd be a bit of both; poor kid)
Erin: precog (she's got this fundamental understanding of time that's just... wow)
Kathleen: telepath (she doesn't know where someone else ends and she begins)
Kathryn: empath (very, very, very sensitive to the way others feel; it's a good thing she's not the ferreting-out-stuff type because you'd never be able to hide from her)
me: teleporter-telekinetic (if Erin understands time, I understand space; I know where I am and where other things are)
