Today, the shuttle Columbia exploded over Texas as it was flying towards the Kennedy Space Center in Florida to land. In mourning for the seven men and women, their families, and all children - American, Israeli, and others - who were affected, I'm putting erratic evolution on blackout for a few days.
vgs 1.4.1 crackI've spent the day crying or tearing up off and on. I don't know why this should affect me so deeply, but it does. I think that the astronauts were a ray of hope in this muddled world, and their loss is devastating. May the memory of the Apollo, Challenger, and Columbia crews be honored by all future missions to space.

Posted by: anima at February 2, 2003 09:01 AMThat was truly a sad day. I feel that the astronauts, and the fact that man can make it awe inspiring and proof of the greatness that lies within each one of us. I tend to not dwell on sadness these days. Wat is done is done, and tomorrow will be a better day. ^_^

Media whores. All of you. In between then and now hundreds of good people will have died. Yet, since they won't get coverage from CNN, you won't mourn them.
If you, for a second, think those were better people solely because they were astronauts I'm saddened.
