Erin was nice enough to invite me over to watch Utena, so... yeah, Utena! ^_^ All I can say is, "Nanami lays an egg." :D~
Lingvo 10 first stepActually, for me, Utena isn't really hard to understand... you just need to be able to compartamentalize and theorize well. As Erin said, you need to understand that it's all one huge metaphor, but you also need to realize that it is a story. Things are unrealistic, but they were never meant to seem possible; they are unrealistic and should be thought of as such. However, those anomalies usually have a meaning. For example, the cars are cars, but if you think of them as cars and nothing more, you'll always be confused.
I enjoy it. ^_^ It's fun. And frighteningly gorgeous... to think that human beings could create something that beautiful. But you have to be careful - one can't ever let one's self be hypnotized by one's own glory because that, inevitably, is the downfall of gods.
