Well if you haven't read or seen or hear anything else this morning, Saddam was caught.
I wonder if we'll "win" now and leave Iraq in chaos...or we'll start going after other countries on the US shitlist. Most probably Syria.

Sorry I'm so cynical about this...I just don't like war. Nor do I like this country's reaction. I suppose I am grateful for how worried people are about the civilian population though. That's been really good.

Perhaps I should be more optimistic...

I don't blame you... When will the men who rule the world learn... Wars only cause more problems.

Wow...someone who reads this thing other than my group of friends and me.

There aren't a whole lot of wars that solved more problems than caused them. But *shrugs* I'm not in any place of political power so what can I do.

...though I suppose I vote. That's something at least.

The problem isn't "men". It's people in general. Women are as brutal as their counterparts.

I consider World War II a necessary war. But Iraq is a semi-Vietnam situation. As in, it's not completely necessary but in the overall scheme, and with the people that are being placed out of power, it could be good.

To clarify: It's only like Vietnam in that it was not necessity. Of course, Vietnam was a whackjob.

I don't know.. I have had varying opinions on this conflict *sighs*. I heard on the news today two things of interest. One thing is that there were two political analysts who were saying that the Conflict with Iraq could still keep going, or it might end soon, and there isn't really any indication of which it will be. The other thing was that a democracy set up in Iraq would most likely be run by the Shi'ah majority, and that could be ungood, because there is a chance that a Shi'ah leader would be run by a religious leader. They were talking about how to set up a democracy that would have equal representation for all of the people in Iraq. Before I go on a little rant, I want to say that I think there is also a chance that a Sunni leader could be run by a religious leader, or any other leader could be run by some force. I think moreso the concern should be if that leader will cause problems for the other people living in that country. I don't like war either.. some wars were neccesary, like David said with World War II, but I don't know... this conflict with Iraq is very different. It's one thing to go in to free the people from a leader like that.. it's another to go in looking for terrorist ties and big weapons that haven't really been found yet.. but then again, how many other countries have cruel leaders like that? and how long will our resources hold out if we go on some Liberation Quest? I just don't know.. my opinions on the subject are shaky and loose, because I think some things that are happening are good, whereas some things are really bad... *sighs*. I really don't know. I just hope things turn out well for the people there..

in conflict, there is no such thing as winning or losing, it's just a matter of how bad does one lose. cynicism isn't a bad thing, it's actually quite refreshing since it's coming from you. youre not known for your cynicism. welcome to the wonderful world of the cynic.
