I went to an anti-war protest today. The news was even there and they interviewed me. ^ ^ But anyways. It was very dishearting and at the same time I felt very justified. Most of the people there were students, teachers, or hippies. Aka, people who think! *sigh* anyways. There was a counter protest on the sidewalk across the courthouse barrier. 4 people decided to show up. Sadly, I doubt if 3 of them graduated from high school. The one I did think probably graduated was a sweet old lady type. Touru-kun (aka Mariah) was playing the neutral party because she wanted to keep being a reporter for the campus news and she talked to both sides. Mostly to the counter protest because she wanted to be in our protest but she couldn't well be the press anymore. But anyways. She also confirmed that they didn't have any solid arguement. ANY solid arguments.
It's not that I hate militarists. Well, maybe I don't have the highest opinion in them, but at least they think. These people cloaked themselves in two things: One, Speaking louder. Two, Assuming everything they themselves say is complete and inarguable truth. It didn't help that these people were incredably stupid and very often used childish insults. And every single time we made valid points their responce was "I don't care about your stupid over educated psychobabble" -_-; It was very dishearting. All the blindness.
You know it's a bad sign when Liz was holding up a sign saying "Protesting is the Most American thing possible" and they started calling us communists. Personally I liked my "Patriotism means No Questions" and then on the other side when I got tired of holding up that one said "Bomb Texas, they have oil too!"
In the interview for the news I just said I wanted people to think. I hope that's what gets posted. Because that's all, I want people to think.
