Sooooo not surprized. soooooo not surprized

Woo! I'm in the house of the girl that all yaoi fans despise! rock on.

What type of manga are you?

brought to you by Quizilla
you are "super-deformed" or "chibi". so full of energy. and so full of bull. you know there's people who want you dead?

*giggles innocently*

Um....I think I'm going to try my hand at a little philosophy rant, especially since rob said he wanted one. A few have already heard me rant on this in AIM but....I never really said it out anywhere much else though I DID comment on it in nigaki's blog.
Either ways I think I actually hit on something right on....or I completely and utterly missed the mark on this...but I still think it could really be possible. But anyways.

Time. Time is extremely connected to physical things. Dust settles, hearts beat, cells divide, the earth rotates, the universe grows. It's all completely related to time. The world is not the same as it was 3 seconds ago or 3 seconds into the future. It's different only because of time.

But do people change? The set static personality of someone existant? Yes and no. People change...but some things stay the same. The unique personality. Their own individual...flavor I guess. The thing that seperates them from all the other humanbeings, what is that? Is that connected to time? Not really because it stays the same or at least very similar.

So. hypothesis. The end of time? literally. If time stopped what would happen? Physical matter wouldn't...well...matter! Because it's connected to time so heavily, outside of time it wouldn't mean the same. But the personality of someone would still exist, the more static the stronger it would be. Basically, a person's soul.

So, does that sound familiar? The flesh is no longer needed and the soul lives on? That sounds like something similar to death.

So an individuals death is like an individuals loss of time. And the end of the world? A loss of time for everyone. And how to explain the loss of time without time? Eternity.

^_^ yes...it's weird. but I honestly think it's one of two things. I either hit on something big....or I'm completely and utterly off the mark. No clue. But none the less.

Sorry if it's really hard to grasp but it was one of those epiphany type things. it was just like "*click* oh wow o_o"

Hm...I've (ever since I started trying to get a decent concept of 4+ dimensional geometry) thought of time as another spatial dimension, meaning that time itself is meaningless, merely our perception of spatial change.
Of course, string theory holds with the idea of individual flavour, I believe...since each individual string vibrates, so the resonance pattern or whatever it would be (using the conceptual metaphor) of each individual would be different.
Without time, though, (to jump back to another topic) we wouldn't exist in our current forms. I think that time is the medium (going back to 4+ D geometry) in which our three perceived dimensions exist...
Hm, much to think about.
I don't know if I agree with the idea of a soul existing without time, but I do agree with the interdependence of time and space.
Sorry for any incoherent babel.
